All my life I have always had the desire to create and design. I have expressed this through my studies in wildlife biology, landscape design, working with wood and in the application of pen and ink and in watercolor. I have a history of creating paintings in many diverse styles and subjects. My most recent and inspiring work has been in the black and white which is very simplistic, yet complex at the same time. A black and white painting is incredibly effective in creating drama and mood. These types of images work well as they don’t distract the eye as colors tend to do. The contrast between various shades of blacks, grays and whites gives my paintings a strong and solid feel.

The difference between a colored painting and a black and white painting is one looks "at” the colored painting but one looks “into” the soul of the black and white painting.

I have found inspiration for my most recent works through traveling, studying history and culture and by observing the simple things around me. I hope you enjoy my paintings as I have enjoyed creating them.
